NWSC’s Medical Assistant program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in this rewarding career. When you join our Medical Assistant program, you will dive into a comprehensive curriculum that covers everything from medicalterminology to patient care.
Medical assistants typically work under the supervision of physicians or other healthcare professionals and are responsible for performing administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and billing. Education and Training The educational requirements for medical assistants and nurses differ significantly.
CMAs play a vital role in healthcare environments, working alongside physicians to provide patient care and support various clinical operations. At the New York Medical Career Training Center, we offer a 450-hour CMA training course designed to equip you with crucial skills and knowledge for the healthcare field.
Patient Interaction: Communicating with patients, taking medical histories, and measuring vitalsigns. These foundational skills give pre-med students a practical understanding of medical procedures and patient care. Healthcare Team Dynamics: Observing and participating in the collaborative efforts of healthcare teams.
Organizational skills to manage appointments, medical records, and administrative tasks efficiently. Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and other medical staff professionally.
These classes are instrumental in building a strong theoretical foundation in essential healthcare subjects such as medicalterminology, anatomy & physiology, and clinical procedures. Each class session includes a mix of lectures, discussions, and collaborative activities, with the active engagement of students being a key focus.
This provides students with real-world experience working collaboratively with a medical team as a trainee in the medical assistant role. Our students receive basic, grounding education for working in healthcare.
