I did most of my inpatient general medicine on the 12 th floor of the Reisman building at Beth Israel Hospital. I remembered the details of all of their hospitalizations. CT died about a week after admission. He had been brought to the hospital after his neighbor heard him fall and called 911. CW had no family.

Patients would not be repeat offenders (admissions). CT/X-ray/ultrasound machines would only be across the hall, not on the other side of the hospital. Physicians would round on their patients all at predicted/scheduled times. Here’s what I would have in my perfect nursing world : I’d never get pulled to work in another unit.
